A 43-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a van in the city of Mar del Plata. According to La Capital, the tragic incident occurred during the morning of Friday on Jorge Newbery Avenue when a Chevrolet Tracker van collided with a motorcycle on which a man was riding with his daughter.
The motorcycle driver, identified as Franco Galván, died at the scene, while his 18-year-old daughter suffered a skull trauma and was urgently transported to the Interzonal Hospital, where she is in stable condition.
Police officers, medical personnel from SAME, and municipal Traffic agents arrived at the accident site and confirmed the motorcyclist's death. The Scientific Police conducted the necessary investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident, while the Prosecutor's Office for Criminal Offenses is in charge of the case.
According to the investigations, the driver of the van, a 60-year-old woman traveling from south to north, allegedly overtook a vehicle and, upon changing lanes, collided with the Honda HR 150 traveling in the opposite direction.
Prosecutor Germán Vera Tapia has not yet determined the legal qualification of the incident, although it is suggested that it could be classified as "culpable homicide." Furthermore, no detention orders have been issued against the driver involved in the accident.
